D-mannose exhibits an extremely low metabolic rate (does not affect blood glucose levels) which results in the majority of dietary D-mannose being excreted in the urine in a very short period of time where it continues its journey through the ureter , bladder and urethra, performing there a valuable service in supporting and maintaining a healthy urinary system before it exits the body.

Studies support the role of D-mannose in maintaining and supporting a healthy urinary tract, by inhibiting the attachment of pathogenic bacteria to the surface of the epithelial cells of the urinary tract, with the following proposed mechanism of action:

The cell wall of Escherichia coli bacteria that cause UTIs have small protrusions on their surface that contain complex molecules called lectins.

Lectins are responsible for the adhesion of bacteria to the wall of the bladder which results in the non-removal of these pathogenic bacteria through the urine.

The presence of D-mannose in the urinary tract helps to block the binding sites (i.e. lectins) of pathogenic bacteria so that the bacteria responsible for UTIs can no longer attach to the bladder cell wall and are inevitably excreted in the urine .

In fact, D-mannose doesn't kill the bacteria responsible for UTIs, it just helps flush them out.

D-mannose appears to be approximately 10 times more effective than an equal amount of cranberry fruit (powder) in removing E.Coli bacteria from the bladder wall.

Other ingredients: magnesium stearate, vegetable cellulose (empty capsule ingredient).

DOSAGE:

Take two (2) Natural Doctor D-Mannose capsules with a glass of water, three (3) times daily for a period of up to one week or as directed by your physician.
